Full Program Now Available

Since we last met in Birmingham there have been many advances in research and practice which will be features of this conference.

This conference in Melbourne has been organised using the staging model of illness as a guide. In clinical staging the aim is to understand and identify the progress of the illness process. From this, the least invasive treatment for a particular stage may be selected. In this way there is a very close relationship between research and understanding, and clinical practice. This relationship between research and clinical practice has always been a key feature of IEPA meetings. It is hoped that organisation around this model will further enhance this, and provide an experience for participants which both enhances knowledge and provides a context in which that knowledge may be applied.

Under the leadership of Professor Patrick McGorry, a scientific program has been developed by leading mental health experts from around the world to ensure the content is stimulating, groundbreaking and highly educational.

The full program is now available on the Conference website. To view the Full Program click here:

Social Program and International Early Psychosis Film Festival

To provide a change of pace from scientific sessions, delegates and their guests will have many opportunities to meet socially and to renew or develop friendships. Magnificent venues, fine wines, delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere will ensure evenings of entertainment and memories to take home.

International Early Psychosis Film Festival
This inaugural event will showcase short films from early psychosis intervention programs and organisations from around the world which deal with early psychosis and related mental health issues. Early psychosis programs and organisations are encouraged to enter any short films they would like to present to an international audience. All types of styles will be considered, and from any point of view, be it consumer, clinician or a family supporter perspective. All films will be screened during the conference during each lunch break in You Yangs 2. The top films will premiere on the evening of Sunday 19th October, at the official Conference Welcome Reception, at the National Gallery of Victoria. Come along and be treated to a visual feast of unique, creative and inspiring short films all working to encourage awareness, compassion and understanding in the community.
