The Scientific Program Committee invites you to submit abstracts for consideration for oral or poster display at the Conference.

Instructions for Authors

All abstracts are to be submitted online at www.iepa2008.com
If you are unable to access the website to download the template, please contact the Conference Secretariat via e-mail at abstracts@iepa2008.com and one will be emailed to you. The deadline for abstract submission is 5pm 25 April 2008.

Abstracts must be submitted in English and be no longer than 250 words. No photographs, pictures, diagrams and tables will be accepted. Scientific symbols will be excepted in the body of the text only not in the title. Full instructions on how to submit your abstract/s is available on the Conference website www.iepa2008.com/Papers.html.

The Scientific Program Committee welcomes abstracts on any aspect of Early Psychosis study. Please nominate the topic that is most appropriate when submitting your abstract. This list is a guide only:

    Authors must disclose within the body of their abstract affiliations with sponsoring companies, if applicable. All authors must complete full disclosure on the website.

    Confirmation of Receipt of Abstracts
    You will be sent an acknowledgement via e-mail to confirm that your abstract has been received. If you do not receive the acknowledgement within three days of your submission, please contact the Conference Secretariat at abstracts@iepa2008.com

    Abstract Presentation
    Abstracts will be accepted for 20 minute oral presentations (15 minutes plus 5 minutes discussion or question time), poster presentations and Symposia proposals. Poster authors will be asked to stand by their poster during scheduled poster presentation times. Authors will be notified of the review outcome by 16th June 2008. Further presentation instructions will be given at this time.

    Publication of Abstracts
    Abstracts will be published in a dedicated Conference Abstract Book. A copy of the Abstract Book will be given to all delegates who attend the Conference.

    The International Conference on Early Psychosis Program Committee are pleased to have secured numerous international and national speakers to present at IEPA2008, sharing their esteemed expertise and research.

    In this issue, IEPA2008 would like to introduce Professor Anthony A. Grace, a leader in his field who will feature in the 2008 Program.

    Professor Anthony A. Grace (United States of America)

    Professor Anthony GraceAnthony A. Grace received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology at Yale University. He is now Professor of Neuroscience, Psychiatry, and Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Grace's research interests lie at the interface of neurobiology and psychiatry. Experiments conducted in his laboratory combine in vivo and in vitro electrophysiological recordings of identified neurons with behavioural and neuroanatomical techniques to study central dopaminergic systems, with the ultimate goal of determining the neurobiological correlates of mental disorders and the modes of action of psychotherapeutic drugs.

    Dr. Grace has won numerous recognitions for his work, including the Dr. Paul Janssen Schizophrenia Research Award, the Daniel H. Efron Award, and a MERIT award from NIMH. He is also on the advisory board for NAMI, NARSAD, the Schizophrenia Research Forum, and is on the board of directors for the Schizophrenia International Research Society
