Registration is open Issue 2

On behalf of the planning Committee I am delighted to invite you to attend the 6th International Conference on Early Psychosis, Early Intervention – The Next Wave, between the 20 – 22 October 2008 in the beautiful city of Melbourne, Australia.

National and international speakers will come together to:

  • Highlight the latest progress in research and clinical care in early psychosis
  • Focus on linkages across diagnostic groups in early intervention
  • Consider the relationships between different stages of illness
  • Promote further international collaboration and reform

We are currently calling for the submission of abstracts for papers to be considered for inclusion in the conference. The closing date for submissions is 28 March 2008. Details of the submission process are available on the website.

The Scientific Program Committee invites you to submit abstracts for consideration for oral or poster display at the Conference.

Instructions for Authors

All abstracts are to be submitted online at www.iepa2008.com
If you are unable to access the website to download the template, please contact the Conference Secretariat via e-mail at abstracts@iepa2008.com and one will be emailed to you. The deadline for abstract submission is 5pm 28 March 2008.

Abstracts must be submitted in English and be no longer than 250 words. No photographs, pictures, diagrams and tables will be accepted. Scientific symbols will be excepted in the body of the text only not in the title. Full instructions on how to submit your abstract/s is available on the Conference website www.iepa2008.com/Papers.html.

Disclosure/ Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose within the body of their abstract affiliations with sponsoring companies, if applicable. All authors must complete full disclosure on the website.

Confirmation of Receipt of Abstracts
You will be sent an acknowledgement via e-mail to confirm that your abstract has been received. If you do not receive the acknowledgement within three days of your submission, please contact the Conference Secretariat at abstracts@iepa2008.com

Abstract Presentation
Abstracts will be accepted for 20 minute oral presentations (15 minutes plus 5 minutes discussion or question time), poster presentations and Symposia proposals. Poster authors will be asked to stand by their poster during scheduled poster presentation times. Authors will be notified of the review outcome by 20th May 2008. Further presentation instructions will be given at this time.

Publication of Abstracts
Abstracts will be published in a dedicated Conference Abstract Book. A copy of the Abstract Book will be given to all delegates who attend the Conference.

Calling all Early Psychosis Film Buffs

Entries wanted for: The International Early Psychosis Film Festival

Sunday October 19th, 2008, IEPA Conference Melbourne

The inaugural International Early Psychosis Film Festival will showcase short films which deal with early psychosis and related mental health issues from early psychosis intervention programmes and organisations from around the world.

Early psychosis programmes and organisations are encouraged to enter any short films they would like to present to an international audience.

All types of styles will be considered, and from any point of view, be it consumer, clinician or a family supporter perspective, be they short films, multimedia presentations or advertisements.

The top films will premiere on the evening of Sunday 19th October, at the official Conference Welcome Reception, at the National Gallery of Victoria.

Come along and be treated to a visual feast of unique, creative and inspiring short films all working to encourage awareness, compassion and understanding in the community.
